American Roulette

A version of Roulette that’s available to play. Both its wheel and table contain a single zero and a double zero. With this additional double zero, there are 38 numbers in total found within the wheel for the ball to potential land upon, increasing the house edge to 5.26%.

Backtrack

This is what the outer section of the wheel is called, where the ball spins.

Black Bet

An outside bet that can be placed in any form of Roulette, whether that be Live or not. This bet is based on a player placing a wager on black, with a 1:1 winning odd if the ball lands on a black number.

Dealer

This refers to the person in control of the game. They’re also known as a croupier. Whenever you play live Roulette, the dealer will be present and actively in control of the game in play.

European Roulette

A version of Roulette, that’s most commonly used for Live games within the online casino world. The European version contains 37 numbers in total, compared to the American version, as this wheel and table only carry a single zero within its layout. By losing the double zero, the house edge drops to 2.70%.

House Edge

This phrase refers to the advantages the house (casino) has in any given situation during the game. A house edge is created by a difference in odds of any bet winning and the payout a player would receive.

Marker

When playing live Roulette, a marker, occasionally referred to as a ‘dolly’, is a small implement that’s used to showcase the winning number/pocket of the game. When the wheel comes to a halt, the dealer will place a marker onto the table layout, in the place that represents the winning pocket. They will then begin to clear all losing bets from the table before handing out the winnings to anyone who predicted the outcome of the game correctly.
