Two men who had been arrested in connection to a stabbing that took place at Thornton Manor have been released on police bail.
Merseyside Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a 24-year-old man was stabbed at the wirral venue on Easter Sunday.
It is believed that a fight broke out between several males attending a large scale function at Thornton Manor in Thornton Hough at around 10.50pm.
Shortly afterwards the 24 year-old victim was seen by staff in the venue’s garden area to have suffered an injury to his abdomen which was consistent with a stab wound.
He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition is described as stable.
A 25 year-old man and a 26 year-old man were later arrested on suspicion of s18 assault and are being questioned by detectives.
CCTV and forensic opportunities are currently being explored and detectives are appealing for anyone who was at the function and may have witnessed the assault to come forward.
Detective Inspector Paul Parry said: “We believe that a large number of people were in attendance at the function at Thornton Manor and may have witnessed what happened leading up to the man being assaulted, or the assault itself.
“Many of those people had already left the venue when patrols arrived and we are keen to speak to anyone who thinks they might have seen something or think they can help with our enquiries.”
