An investigation is underway to establish the identity of the offenders and CCTV and forensic enquiries are ongoing in the local area.
Detective Constable Ben Dyer said: “I would appeal for anyone who was in the vicinity of Utting Avenue East around the time of the incident who may have seen anything suspicious to contact us. We would also appeal to anyone who may have been offered jewellery or watches matching the items listed in recent weeks to get in touch.
“It would have been busy in the area at the time and members of the public may have seen the four men either close to the shop prior to the robbery or leaving the area afterwards. Thankfully there were no customers in the shop at the time and staff were not hurt, but they have understandably been left extremely shocked by the experience.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police on 0151 777 4065 or the Crimestoppers line anonymously on 0800 555 111.
