The owners of Radio City are set to leave St John’s Beacon after 24 years.
Bauer Media has continued to operate from the iconic Liverpool landmark despite rebranding the legendary station as Hits Radio earlier this year.
But both Hits Radio Liverpool, which replaced Radio City, and Greatest Hits Radio Breakfast will no longer operate from the tower when its lease expires.
A spokesperson said: “We are incredibly proud to have been part of the vibrant history of the Grade II listed St Johns Beacon.
“This next step allows us to invest in facilities that better support our vision and evolving needs.
‘The final shows from St Johns Beacon will air on Tuesday, December 24.
“Following this date, Greatest Hits Radio Breakfast will broadcast nationally from Bauer’s state-of-the-art Northwest hub, whilst Hits Radio Liverpool Breakfast will continue to broadcast from the city.”
Despite refusing to extend the lease on the building, Bauer will retain the rights to signage and are still seeking to rebrand it to Hits Radio Liverpool.
