Liverpool to unveil Kenny Dalglish Stand next weekend

Liverpool will mark the unveiling of the Kenny Dalglish Stand next weekend.

A number of celebratory events have been planned for the event on October 14, which will coincide with the Reds’ Premier League clash with Manchester United.

Anfield’s Centenary Stand was renamed in recognition of Dalglish’s contribution to Liverpool both as an iconic player, successful manager and club ambassador.

The Kop and the newly renamed stand will display a special mosaic in tribute to the legendary Scot before the visit of Jose Mourinho’s side next Saturday.

Liverpool have also dedicated the cover of their match day programme for the United game to Dalglish as part of its commemorations.

Rebranding of the stand is already well underway with illuminated signage and exterior graphics installed at the stadium earlier this week.

Dalglish spent 13 years as a player and manager at Anfield before returning as a club ambassador in 2009 and latterly in the dugout again between 2011 and 2012.
