Coutinho ‘100% accepted’ Barcelona saga outcome

Philippe Coutinho ‘100% accepted’ Liverpool’s refusal to sell him to Barcelona.

The Reds rejected offers in excess of £100 million from the Spanish giants earlier this summer as Coutinho attempted to force through a move to the Nou Camp.

Barca later claimed that Liverpool demanded £183m for the playmaker on the final day of the transfer window – a statement Anfield officials flatly denied.

Coutinho’s compatriot Neymar, who left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain, also suggested that the Brazil international felt ‘a great sadness’ at the failed move.

But Jurgen Klopp insists that the 25-year-old, who will miss Saturday’s game with Manchester City, has made peace with Liverpool’s decision.

He said: “It was not the most easy time, but that’s the transfer window.

“I really think we handled it really well. There’s no secret about what happened, but not all the things in newspapers were 100 percent right.

“Nothing that I’m aware of was unforgivable. He came in yesterday and accepted the decision, 100 percent.

“It’s absolutely no problem, and I’m completely fine with this situation.”
