Arriva reduces weekly ticket for Merseyside residents

Arriva is launching a ticket offer to make the cost of travelling by bus cheaper this spring.

From 18th March, Arriva will be reducing the cost of its weekly ticket from £17 to £15. The ticket can be used across all routes in Merseyside until 28th April, and is available to purchase both on the bus, and via the company’s m-Ticket app.

In addition to this, Arriva has frozen ticket prices on all Adult, Young Person and Student single fares.

Lisa Pearson, Head of Marketing commented: “We hope that our reduced weekly fare will encourage more people to travel by bus, and we will be reviewing how well the offer is received by our passengers over the next six weeks.”

Arriva hopes that the reduced weekly bus fare will encourage more people to commute to work by bus, subsequently reducing congestion and levels of air pollution in the city centre.

The popular Merseyside Zone day ticket for travel on all Arriva buses throughout Merseyside, including Cross River for Wirral, will also be reduced from £4.60 to £4.40. The Liverpool Plus and Wirral Zone day tickets will be withdrawn.
