Liverpool launch 90s throwback away kit

Liverpool have unveiled a 1990s-inspired away kit for the 2021/22 season.

Nike’s off-white change strip is a nod to the city’s Three Graces along the waterfront with similarities to the ‘ecru’ strip worn by the Reds in 1996/97.

The shirt is complimented by a teal collar with red and white stripes.

As with the home kit, Jurgen Klopp’s side will be wearing a kit made up of 100% recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles.

Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones said: “We’re a trendsetting city, we don’t follow the rules – we make them. I think the fans will love this one.

“It’s a perfect reflection of the city and you can see the inspiration throughout the design with a throwback to the 90s.”

The new away kit is available for pre-order online now and will go on general sale for purchase in-store and online from Thursday, July 15.
