Sadio Mane set to complete Liverpool FC switch in next 24 hours

Southampton forward Sadio Mane is set to become a Liverpool player in the next 24 hours.

A £30 million deal has been agreed between the Reds and their South Coast counterparts that will see the 24-year-old join former Saints players Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne at Anfield.

Mane is set to undergo a medical on Merseyside today before being unveiled as the fourth signing of Jurgen Klopp’s reign following Southampton’s signing of Nathan Redmond from Norwich City.

The Liverpool manager shifted attention to the Senegal international after failing to tempt Mario Gotze, his former Borussia Dortmund player, away from Bayern Munich.

Klopp’s addition of Mane, as well as the long-awaited capture of Udinese playmaker Piotr Zielinski, is likely to offer a fresh injection of pace that will match the Kop boss’ demands for a physically fitter squad ahead of his first full season.
