Gangland killers sentenced over double murder

Two men have been found guilty of the murder of John Kinsella and Paul Massey.

Mark Fellows gunned down John Kinsella as well as father-of-two Paul Massey. He was found guilty yesterday and was today sentenced to life in prison.

A friend of Fellows, Steven Boyle, was convicted of acting as a spotter in the Kinsella murder however he was cleared of any involvement in the murder of  Paul Massey.

Both men, who were said to have grinned as the verdicts were delivered, were found not guilty of the attempted murder of John Kinsella’s pregnant partner Wendy Owen.

Kinsella, described as a gangland enforcer, was executed by a masked cyclist whilst walking his dogs with Wendy Owen.

Fellows was handed a whole life sentence for his involvement. The judge said at the time of sentencing ” I have never had to deal with a contract killer of your kind before. There are few judges who have”. There were shouts of “rat” from the public gallery before some observers were asked to leave.

Fellows made a number of gestures to Steven Boyle after he “grassed” on him during the trial. Even yesterday, when found guilty, he repeated the slurs.

Today signifies the end of trail that has seen both men brought to court by armoured escort on a daily basis.
