Man slashed across the face in gang attack

A man in his 20s is in hospital after a gang attack in Stockbridge Village.
Police were called shortly after 7.25pm on Monday following reports the victim suffered a laceration to his face from a group of men on Waterpark Drive.
He ran to Croxdale Road West where members of the public provided first aid before the arrival of paramedics, who transported him to the hospital.
The man’s condition is currently described as serious but stable.
Extensive enquiries are underway at the scene to establish the full circumstances with potential witnesses being spoken to and CCTV opportunities explored.
Detective Inspector Jay Halpin said: “Our enquiries into this incident are at a very early stage, but we believe this was carried out by a number of males.
“We are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Waterpark Drive and Croxdale Road West and may have witnessed any part of this incident, or captured it on doorbell cameras or dashcam, to contact police.
“You may have information or footage that could prove vital to our enquiries.
“Residents in Stockbridge Village can expect to see increased police activity in the coming days, and I urge residents to speak to those officers and share any concerns they may have.”
