Inquest hears of tragic footballer Zoe Tynan’s final moments

A teenage footballer who died at a Liverpool train station told her sister that she loved her and ‘everything would be ok’ during her final moments.

Zoe Tynan, who had played for Everton and Manchester City Ladies’ teams, was killed after being hit by a train at West Allerton on August 30 this year.

An inquest into the 18-year-old’s death heard that she had been acting ‘out of character’ in the 40 minutes prior to leaving her Mossley Hill home that day.

A friend also disclosed that they had received a text message which was ‘suggestive of Zoe’s intention to end her life’ at 4.09pm.

Coroner Anita Bhardwaj recorded that Ms Tynan had taken her own life after CCTV pictures showed her ‘calmly’ climbing down onto the tracks.
