Bryan Oviedo is a doubt for Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final with Chelsea after the Everton defender was admitted to hospital with bronchitis.
The Costa Rica international, 26, was admitted to Whiston hospital in the early hours of Wednesday morning and became the third Blues player to succumb to a chest infection in the past week.
Roberto Martinez was forced to start Gareth Barry on the substitutes’ bench for last weekend’s defeat to West Ham United while Tom Cleverley, also suffering from the problem. missed the fixture in its entirety.
Thank you very much for your messages. I am hospitalized for bronchitis, but nothing serious. See you soon. #EFC #OviedoBaby 💙👊🏼
