Farhad Moshiri outlines Everton FC vision as new majority shareholder

New Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has outlined his plans for the club.

Moshiri will take in his first game as a member of the Goodison Park board during tomorrow’s visit of Chelsea after his 49.9 per cent investment in the Blues was ratified by the Premier League earlier this week.

And the former Arsenal director has used his inaugural address to Evertonians in the match programme for the FA Cup quarter-final to confirm that he will ensure that funds are made available to ensure Roberto Martinez’s side can both preserve and grow their current pool of exciting young talent.

The Iranian billionaire, 60, has also pledged to tackle Everton’s long-standing issue over a new or redeveloped stadium, which remains unresolved despite three proposed alternate venues to their spiritual home of Goodison.

He said: “I know that a lot of you want to know what my plans are.

“There is much to be done and things for me to learn, but I can confirm that I am committed to providing additional funds for transfers and retaining our key players to ensure that we have a strong core to build on for the future.

“We will also be looking at the best options in relation to our stadium. Goodison Park has served the club extremely well but we need to make sure the club has a sustainable stage to perform on for the future.”
