David Moyes has revealed when Everton expect Dominic Calvert-Lewin to return to action.
The England international is yet to feature for Moyes’ side since picking up a hamstring injury during their away win over Brighton at the end of January.
Calvert-Lewin could potentially be nearing the end of his time at Goodison Park with the striker’s existing contract set to expire later this summer.
But Moyes offered hopes that the 28-year-old could play some part in the Blues’ season run-in after making a return to training in recent weeks.
He said: “Dom’s out on the grass and he’s training well.
“I think because it’s been a hamstring injury, it’s not the sort of thing we can speed up greatly and bring him back [sooner].
“We’re trying to follow all the protocols with it and trying not to bring him back to quickly.
“But we’re roughly thinking we’ve got another three weeks on Dom before talking about him getting back into the side.”
Moyes also confirmed that Jesper Lindstrom is likely to miss large parts of the remainder of the campaign after undergoing corrective surgery on Thursday.
The Napoli loanee missed successive games for Everton with what was believed to be a groin complaint but has been diagnosed as a hernia issue.
“Unfortunately Jesper had a hernia operation yesterday so that will rule him out for probably for most of the season now,” added Moyes.
“That’s disappointing for him and for us because he’d started to show some decent form in the last month or so, and he was an important player for us.”
