Sadio Mane set for Liverpool FC return against Chelsea

Sadio Mane could make his Liverpool return in Tuesday’s visit of Chelsea.

Mane is set to return to Merseyside next week after Senegal were eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations quarter final by Cameroon on Saturday night.

The winger featured in three of his country’s four games at the tournament in Gabon but missed a vital penalty in the shoot out.

And Jurgen Klopp may elect to include his top scorer for the clash with the current Premier League leaders at Anfield in two days’ time.

In Mane’s absence, Liverpool have won just one of seven games in all competitions with the latest an FA Cup exit to Championship outfit Wolves.

A 2-1 reversal to Paul Lambert’s side came just three days after Southampton emerged victorious from their EFL Cup semi-final encounter with the Reds.

The Wolves defeat was also Liverpool’s third successive defeat at Anfield since 2012, during the formative months of Brendan Rodgers’ tenure.
