Philippe Coutinho is a doubt for Liverpool’s trip to Stoke City as he continues to struggle with illness.
The Brazilian was withdrawn during the Reds’ eventual 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Wednesday after complaining of feeling sick.
Jurgen Klopp stated post-match that Coutinho had admitted to feeling better, offering hope of a swift return in time for the game at the Bet365 Stadium.
But the Liverpool manager has now revealed that he could now be without the influential playmaker as he was absent from a second successive day of training.
He said: “Phil is still ill. He was not at Melwood yesterday.
“He will not be here today, after a conversation with the doc. He feels much better but we will have to see if we bring him tomorrow.
“Stoke is not too far away so we will give him all the time he needs.
But it is really close.”
Klopp will head to the Potteries without Sadio Mane, who has been ruled out for rest of the season, as well as Adam Lallana and captain Jordan Henderson.
