Sadio Mane is ‘convinced’ that Liverpool can win this season’s Champions League.
Friday’s draw for the quarter final of Europe’s elite club competition sees the Reds joining Real Madrid, Juventus and Roma among their potential opponents.
Jurgen Klopp’s side remain outsiders to win the competition for the first time since 2005 despite coasting to a 5-0 aggregate win over Porto in the last 16.
But Mane sees no reason why Liverpool cannot defy the odds as part of a goal-laden attack that also features Roberto Firmino and top scorer Mohamed Salah.
“There are almost only top clubs left in the race,” he told Sport Bild.
“”We are all aware that if you want to become a champion you must be champions.
“We’ve got the quality to beat every team in the world. And we’ll try exactly that.
“Why should Liverpool not be on top in 2018? We want to win the Champions League.
“I am convinced we can do it for the first time since 2005.”
