Southampton forward Sadio Mane has completed his £30 million move to Liverpool.
Mane becomes the fourth signing of Jurgen Klopp’s tenure after penning a five-year deal and is the fourth player to join the Reds from St Mary’s since 2014.
The Senegal international, 24, was previously a target for Manchester United and attracted Klopp’s attention after Liverpool failed in their efforts to land Mario Gotze from Bayern Munich.
“I had some [other] opportunities, but I think for me this is the right club, the right coach and the right moment to change,” he told the club’s official website
“[Klopp] said he wanted me to come to play for Liverpool. I didn’t even have to ask myself, I said straight away ‘yes, I am interested’ because I know Liverpool.
“I am convinced Liverpool are the right club for me with the right coach.”
