Jurgen Klopp’s first return to Liverpool since leaving has been confirmed.
Klopp has not revisited the city after bowing out of an eight-and-a-half year spell in the Anfield hot seat at the end of last season but recently hinted at ending the hiatus.
The German, now Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer, suggested that he might be present for his former club’s final Premier League encounter with Crystal Palace.
But Klopp’s main reason for returning will be as a guest speaker for the LFC Foundation’s annual gala ball at the Anglican Cathedral on Friday, May 23.
The event is set to take place potentially two days before Arne Slot’s side are presented the league title in front of their own for the first time in 35 years.
His predecessor became an honorary ambassador of the club’s charitable foundation after stepping down as Reds’ manager just 11 months ago.
“Everyone knows how much I love the work of the LFC Foundation, ” said.Klopp
“I can’t wait to join them to celebrate that work and help to raise important funds for them to continue the incredible things they are doing.”
