Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has spoken of his excitement at seeing new signing Sadio Mane in competitive action this weekend.
The Reds get their Premier League campaign underway against Arsenal on Sunday, and the former Southampton midfielder believes that Mane could be a real surprise package this season.
He said, “I could see what he was going to bring to this team. He is different to what we have got. He is unpredictable.”
“We have all seen from working with him what he can do. But I was never worried about him settling in”, added the England international.
Mane was on the scoresheet in the Liverpool’s 4-0 friendly win over Barcelona on Saturday at Wembley and Lallana believes that showed supporters the capabilities of the Senegalese international.
He said, “You saw all of those different parts against Barcelona, but I saw all of those things in his first couple of sessions with us.”
Mane has featured regularly during pre-season for Jurgen Klopp’s side, following his £34m summer move from Southampton, and he is expected to start against Arsenal with Daniel Sturridge an injury doubt.
