Everton FC yet to agree Gylfi Sigurdsson deal

Swansea have claimed that Everton are yet to agree a deal for Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Sigurdsson is expected to seal a move to Goodison Park this summer despite the Welsh club’s insistence on a sale only when his £50 million asking price is met.

Ronald Koeman revealed that he had hoped to receive ‘good news’ on the Blues’ pursuit of the playmaker on Friday as negotiations appeared to be progressing.

The Iceland international was omitted from his side’s final pre-season friendly with Sampdoria on Saturday as he sought to resolve his Liberty Stadium future.

But Swans manager Paul Clement insists that there has been no movement on Sigurdsson’s situation since he delivered a previous update on Wednesday.

“The latest is there’s no further news on that situation,” he told S4C.

“[There is] no further news from when I spoke to the media on Wednesday.

“He continues to train with the first-team [but] there is no deal done between us and any other club so the situation is as it was.”
